Friday Finds

~ I have been following Maria at Dreamy Whites for a while now.

This summer she posted about her favorite cabinet...and well, it was love at first sight!!!

Can you see the doors? They do not have glass panes...that is chicken wire! Seriously cool!
I fell in love with the blue and white and chicken wire.

Maria was even gracious enough to post the formula for the blue paint. She had it matched at Benj*min Moore. See below...

Here is the oil based formula for a quart size can of paint~

I thought to myself...I need one of these - except I envisioned a corner cabinet for our dining room!
I almost never find corner cabinets when I scout our Goodwill or the Habitat store, and I really didn't want to buy a new one to experiment with...so I searched Craig's L*st for the first time ever!

I came across this little cabinet for $30. It was hard to tell by the photograph just how tall it is.

Well, she's not very tall!

I thought maybe I could use this cabinet at the beach in the boys' bathroom. It could hold a couple of towels and wash cloths at least. Since I was standing in the owner's living room, I couldn't bring myself to say it was not what I really wanted. I know, crazy isn't it?

So this is how my first corner cabinet endeavor turned out...

And the final product...I think it turned out really cute, and it helps utilize the very BIG space in that bathroom.

I was still on the search for a cabinet for the dining room that was on my list to "make over"! I actually found another corner cabinet on Craig's L*st this summer. I am sad to admit that it was stored in our garage until three weeks ago. It was $50, and the glass panes were broken - which was perfect actually!

Of course this is not a replica of the inspiration cabinet, but I do love how it turned out.

THIS IS MY 300TH POST!

Check back next week for a small giveaway!!!

Happy Friday Y'all!

Both cabinets are AWESOME!! YOU SLAY ME!!! I can't believe how pretty they turned out. You did such a good job. How did you get the chicken wire in the doors??? Also, which Goodwill is your favorite? I have been in two around here and I've never seen any furniture like you've found! The habitat store is a great idea too! Did you "create" the door knob on the dining room cab? LIke took a "shell" and glued it on there?

You should open your own "redo" store! Love your projects! :)
