Jackson's birthday is January 9th. This year we celebrated with a sleepover and taking the boys to Airbound Trampoline Park.
Also in January, Jackson's indoor soccer season ended. His team won the championship for their age group!
Finally in the middle of January, we started to see some signs of life.
But then we had some freezing rain...
For MLK weekend, we took the kids to Williamsburg. We had such a great time.
We started the first day by going in the College of William and Mary football stadium.
Emma and Jackson took a lap around the track.
Next we toured historic Jamestown.

After Jamestown, we had lunch and then went to a few shops near the College of William and Mary. The kids each got a t-shirt, and I got my Tervis!!!
And then we went to Duck Donuts! OMG so delicious!
We hit the outlets for a little while, had dinner and then collapsed back at our condo.
On Sunday, it was pouring down rain. JC drove us over to Newport News, VA. He and his family lived there for 2 years when he was in the 4th and 5th grades. We saw his old house, elementary school, arcade & pizza restaurant that they used to go to. That was a fun experience.
Since the weather was horrible, we decided to have a long nice lunch at Olive Garden. Brendan's All-Stars coach gave me a gift certificate for all of the photos that I took of the team last summer. We never ever go to OG, and it was really a fun experience for the kids. They loved those bread sticks.
After lunch we shopped a little more and then finally it cleared up enough to go walk around a bit in historic Williamsburg.
We had a wonderful time in Williamsburg and have decided to go back again this summer!
We were also able to sneak into the W&M baseball stadium. That was really cool.
Emma's birthday is January 24th. She turned 7 this year. JC and I went to eat lunch with her at school. She was happy to see us!
I will do another post on her birthday party since I have a ton of photos from that day!
Sunday, January 25th was a beautiful day for January. We took the kids up to the Y to get a little exercise and for Emma to try out the bike she got for her birthday.
Later that day Jackson went down to a friend's house for his dodgeball team to get some practice in...Jackson came home almost in tears with his right thumb. JC took him to the urgent care near our house, and they x-rayed it. Jackson broke his thumb high up on his hand at the growth plate.
I had to take him to the pediatric ortho specialist the next day, and they decided to cast him.
Jackson chose Carolina Blue for his cast color! :)
Afterwards I treated him to Krispy Kreme.
The last weekend in January, Jackson had his first soccer tournament of the spring season in Huntersville.
Brrr...it was cold.
In between games that Saturday, we had lunch at PF Changs! YUMMY!
