Christmas Day

Santa Came!!!

I managed to sneak a few photos before the kiddos got up Christmas morning (and these are all unedited).  For the first time in a very long while, we had to wake all three kids up!  It was so nice to be able to sleep in a little.

Emma is still trying to wake up here!

Also for the first time, and most assuredly for the last time, Santa brought all three kids new bikes!  Emma was the only one who officially asked for a bike, but both boys needed a new one desperately.  Brendan's was inoperable!

Both boys also got pocket knives.  We started a collection of Case knives for Brendan last year when he was 10, and Jackson had been wanting a Swiss army knife.  We told him that he also had to wait until he is 10, but since he turns 10 on January 9th, we decided it was close enough.

And Emma received lots and lots of American Girl items including Kit Kittredge, her bed and nightstand and lots of outfits!

We had a very blessed Christmas this year!  I think everyone got exactly what they wanted!

A Little Christmas Baking

Yesterday I decided the boys and I would bake some sugar cookies. Of course I didn't make the cookies from scratch...they were from the refrigerated section of the grocery store. I did call my neighbor and ask to borrow her rolling pin (since I don't own one), and we used cookie cutters to make shapes. Then the boys put sprinkles on top before baking.
Before the actual baking, we made hot chocolate.

Lil' Roy and flour - not a smart combination!

Butch wrote "Tar Heels" in the foot-shaped cookie dough...too bad the writing was gone when they came out of the oven!

After baking I realized the cookies were way too close together on the pan. Some of the shapes were hard to make out, but they all tasted fabulous!
