In One Week

we will be here...

20090607-DSC_0708

On Wednesday, September 9th we start our journey back to Russia. We arrive in Moscow on Thursday the 10th, and then we'll be taken to our hotel. Hopefully we can just sleep the rest of that day. On Friday we have our Doctor's Physicals with a group of 6 to 8 specialists in Moscow. I am not looking forward to this experience as I've been told it will probably take 2.5 hours, but hopefully no more invasive than a lab draw of blood. When we finish there, we will take the overnight train from Moscow to St. Petersburg and arrive Saturday morning.

Once in St. Petersburg, we are hoping to have a visit with Emma on that Saturday although no promises have been made (since it will be the weekend). Presently we have no plans for Sunday, and then we definitely will get to visit the orphanage on Monday the 14th. Our court date is Tuesday, September 15th. Please say lots of prayers that everything goes smoothly in court. I am really getting nervous about it since I will be the one speaking (not JC). After court, we take the overnight train back to Moscow and arrive just in time to go straight to the airport for our departure flight back to the States! It will be a long 36 hours or so. We do not arrive back in NC until around midnight on the 16th.

Now the good stuff begins! :)

If you don't have anything on Sunday, do try to visit the Hermitage museum. It's worth it. We took a ticket from someone who was offering them to go to the front of the line, don't be afraid to do this if you are approached. Just don't pay them until you are inside the museum. It's a fascinating place. We got the guided tour in English, which was fine, but probably didn't need it.

Very very excited for you guys! :) Send me your e-mail address and I will send you my hubs hilarious account of our medical exam.

That is so wonderful that you have your travel dates. Do your sons get to go with you? We adopted our son from Vlad in Nov 07 and LOVE being a family of 5. We had two girls and were missing our boy! Just the reverse of you all. I was way more nervous the day of court than I was prepared for. I hope God gives you peace. It is intense but over quick and then forever is finally in your grasp. I love the name, 'Emma'. Can't wait to see pictures! May God go before you, with you, and give you favor with the judge and other court officials.
