HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 200TH POST

Happy New Year 2010!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe a new year and a new decade have started already! Everyone has always told me that the older I get the faster the time will go by, and I believe it. I just realized that the 2000s decade was the first full decade that JC and I were married (May 2, 1998), and both of our boys and Emma joined our family in 2001, 2003 and 2009! WHAT AN AWESOME 10 YEARS WE HAVE HAD!!!

Who has been organizing already????

I meant to do this post yesterday, but I am one of those people who really does get the cleaning/organizing bug at the start of a new year. Sooooo...I made a list. It has 23 items on it to be completed by me and JC this weekend. We started it yesterday, and I am happy to say that we have crossed off all but eight of those items. The ones that are left will be real tasks though - like shampooing the carpets upstairs (we have hardwoods downstairs). I wish my entire house had hardwood floors including all the bedrooms. Carpet feels so dirty to me since I can't rip it up and throw it in the washing machine. Combine that with two little dachshunds who refuse to go outside in the rain, and we have problems.

I feel so good about crossing things off a list though!

Today is a good day to blog!!! Not only is this my first post of the New Year, but this is my 200th post!!!

My next post will be a little giveaway. I haven't quite decided what the "prize" will be, but please check back and leave a comment to enter!

RESOLUTIONS

JC and I have made resolutions in the past, but this year we did not. I always feel like such a failure when I stop doing whatever it is I said I would work on.

With that being said, we both do want to

1. eat healthier

2. make it back to the YMCA (we have not been since returning from Russia)

3. and try to cut back on our spending a little bit (again with two trips to Russia in Sept/Oct and then buying Christmas presents as soon as we returned, our spending was way more than usual).

WISH LIST 2010

Something else that we have done this year is make a "wish list" for home improvements. Mostly these are things that can be done by us as well as projects that we would need to hire out.
This list is also a little long, but some of the projects are
1. replace kitchen sink faucet
2. replace rug in family room
3. paint the two story walls in our family room
4. replace the ceiling fan and sconces in family room
5. replace soiled carpet in our Master bathroom closet
More than anything else, though, we WISH and PRAY for health and happiness in 2010. 2009 was a very blessed year for us, and we know that this new year will bring us just as much to be thankful for.

From our family to yours, we hope that you also find good fortune, great health and much happiness in 2010!

Steam cleaning carpets is on my list too. Planned for this past week but didn't quite make it. Carpet + Dachshund = makes steam cleaning very necessary.

Happy New Year to you! As we are starting to build a house (actually renovate and expand), your hardwood wishes are good food for thought!

We got married in 1999, and our boys were also born in 2001 and 2003!

I have an organizing bug, but can never quite seem to get mine moving! I so want to be organized, but am so NOT organized! Can you come do things on my list?

Once again, Happy New Year and here's to a wonderful 2010!

Wow! Your blog makes me tired... LOL

You have had an amazing year (I've read some of your old posts.) and had accomplished so much for your family. I'm with you, though. I always so more that can/needs to be done!

Here's to a blessed 2010 for us all!

Isn't it a great feeling to get things check off your "to do" list. If I'm not organized at home, I don't feel organized in other areas of my life (ie. work, etc).

Happy 2010 to your sweet family.

I enjoyed reading your lists. I also love lists, and I have them everywhere.

Congrats on your 200th post! I am looking forward to the next 200.

Happy New Year to your adorable family!

Love the photo of the kids! Good luck with your home projects - my list hasn't gotten much shorter over the last year, but I'm working on it.

Are you having the time of your life with a daughter? I know I am. I went shopping with my mom today and bought Meg's summer wardrobe. 99% of it is Bailey Boys and Peaches n' Cream, but it's SOOOOOOOO cute I can't stand it. By the time I sew a few things for her, she won't be able to wear it all! :)

I have been thinking of you...I hope today went ok.

The picture of your kids is my favorite by far. They look like they have bonded well and your boys look so proud of little Emma.

I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are not right. Write to me in PM, we will talk.
