Black and White Wednesday - Matryoshka Dolls

Today at The Long Road to China, Lisa walks us through the decision on whether or not to "save" photos that on first glance may end up in your trash bin. She does an amazing job of converting a regular photo into a keeper!
For my post today, I wanted to share some photos that I took of Emma Saturday while she was playing with one of the matryoshka dolls we brought back from Russia. It was so hard to get her to smile. I was trying everything...even asking the boys to help me make her laugh. She can be one tough cookie. Here are a few photos that I do like - out of the 50 or so that I took. I am not sure these are the best in black and white though. Her little outfit and the dolls have such vibrant colors.

And here is that beautiful little doll in color and in black and white...

You did get a little smile out of her in the first one. She seems very intrigued by the dolls. The colors are gorgeous!!

What a beautiful sweet girl.

Excellent and enchanting series and I love the nod to her heritage too.

She seems so taken with her dolls.

I too have been there, asking the bigger kiddo to help make the little one smile.... :) but I love these just as they are!

She is precious even without a smile. They DO have minds of their own. They smile when THEY want to smile. As they get older it is very hard to trick them.
