What do you think?
On Sunday, I promised Jackson that we would go to L*wes and he could pick out whatever he wanted to plant in his "garden". He has been asking to plant a garden for a while now. My thoughts went something like this..."I'll be doing all the planting and all the watering and all the weeding, and all the FILL IN THE BLANK!!!".
But as usual, I caved to this idea...so off to L*wes we went.
Here is Jackson in the car after he helped me load everything:
And here is what our plot looked like before:
Thankfully Dad pitched in and helped dig up all the grass...Emma even helped a little:
Jackson chose all of the things we planted in the garden except for a jalapeno plant and cilantro.
He really wanted sunflowers and pumpkins - both of which we had to buy seed packets for...look closely at the name of the sunflowers:
The cutest part was Jack's expression upon opening the seed packs since he actually recognized both seed types by appearance.
Jackson also really wanted a tomato plant (I think he heard me talking about wanting to try to plant one this year) and a daisy! He chose a white gerbera daisy and also a purple petunia.
We also planted one canteloupe for Brendan, one red bell pepper plant, and one yellow squash for mom.
I am not sure how long this garden of Jack's will hold his interest. He is a lot like me: GUNG HO at the beginning of a project. Time will tell whether or not he truly sees this through. He did remember to water today so that is a good sign. I will not let his project fail though. That hour with Jackson shopping and the hour planting were two of my favorite mommy hours ever! I'm sure I'll always remember that time that I shared with just Jackson! It sure doesn't hurt that he is the cutest darn gardener I've ever seen either:

What a fun thing to do with your handsome little hippie! Cute pictures!
Cutest hippie I've seen in a while...and I love the garden!
I love that he is interested in planting. I think it is one of the BEST lessons in instant gratification. I mean in learning that sometimes you have to WAIT for wonderful things!
Groovy Man!!!
Love your little hippie man...he's authentic right down to his tie die shirt, flower and mustache...LOL!
And I love how he is interested in gardening. :)
What a fun day, and he looks adorable!
Jackson can play anything off. That face!!!!!
