Black and White Wednesday

Brendan was at Camp Don Lee for the entire week of August 1 - 7 so we just had Emma and Jackson. On Thursday, we went down to Oak Island for a long weekend and also to be closer to camp for pick up. Jackson decided to stay with my mom instead of making the trip and that afforded us some one-on-one time with Miss Emma. She is a great traveler. It takes us just over four hours to make it to our condo, and we go a lot. She handles the trip very well.
Friday morning we were able to spend time on the beach before the thunderstorms started. It unfortunately rained all afternoon though. We took Emma out to dinner at our favorite restaurant on the island, and then we headed down to the beach for a few photos.
Emma is wearing a cute little dress that my mom made for me when I was a little girl. I'm pretty sure she has a photo of me in this same dress so hopefully one day I can go searching for it to show Emma.
Emma was such a little diva on the beach, and the cloud coverage offered a great back-drop for black and white photos I think.

Oh, that curly hair!! I think it is precious that she is wearing YOUR dress from your childhood - so awesome! And that it was handmade by YOUR Mom? Really cool!

Isn't it interesting to go places with one or two of your kids? Instead of all three? It's easy peasy without all of them ;)

Great pictures!

what an adorable little punkin.

my favorite is her holding daddy's hand and looking back....like she is asking "you coming mama?"

oh. it is so cute.

You have some serious photography skills...then again, it should be pretty easy with a subject as lovely as Emma. Glad she is such a great traveler!

Emma is just precious!
How long have she been at home? It seems like forever ago.
Can you give a real update on her sometime? I am sure I am not the only one that would love how she is doing with you guys. Is she learning to talk a lot yet? Does she sleep in her own room? Does you mind well or do you have discipline issues since she was in orphanage? Have it all be glorious days or have there been some ugly days since she came home? What type of discipline do you use? (I know this is a touchy subject but to someone that is possibly going to adopt a little one I just would like to see how others have dealt with discipline.)

Thanks,
Sally
