"Who would be
A mermaid fair,
Singing alone,
Combing her hair
Under the sea,
In a golden curl
With a comb of pearl,
On a throne?
I would be a mermaid fair;
I would sing to myself the whole of the day;
With a comb of pearl I would comb my hair;
And still as I comb'd I would sing and say,
Who is it loves me? who loves not me?
~Alfred Lord Tennyson take from "The Mermaid"
These photos were taken when we were vacationing on Hilton Head Island.
I have always thought mermaids magical...I was drawn to this sculpture at Shelter Cove Harbour.

It's always our self we find in the sea."

My granddaughter would LOVE this...I do too! Hilton Head is a wonderful place!
Gorgeous shots!!! I can't decide which I love more.
I love these photos and all of the rest from your vacation. Looks like you had a great time.
My daughter got the conch ring at Belk's on the sale table. Isn't it great?! I also got a different style conch ring but mine is a brass toned one by Fossil. They had all of their summer jewelry marked really low. :)
Mermaid Sisters! :)
