Back on November 21st I posted an Adoption Update after speaking with our agency coordinator. You can find that post here.
At that time we decided to file our Dossier in the region of Sakhalin (the island off Russia's coast north of Japan) and our coordinator told us that we should get information on a little referral from Sakhalin by December 10th. So last Wednesday I called the agency very hopeful to hear some good news. I was told, however, that the persons who release information on referrals were all at a conference in Moscow through last weekend. We waited one week, and TheDentist called her back this morning. Now there is about a 5% chance of maybe getting that information released before the new year!!! The Russian government tends to shut down for the holidays from around December 22nd through January 12th. Sigh!!!!
Of course I know that there are MANY ups and downs with adoption! I was just so hopeful that we could hear something before Christmas! What a wonderful Christmas present that would be!!!

Praying for a "Christmas Referral" for your family!!!

Sorry for your disappointment. This adoption journey is not easy, that's for sure.
Don't give up - I ran into an acquaintance last weekend and she told me she and her husband are waiting for a daughter from Korea. I told her about you and JC and she said, "so you know it's just hope and wait and see!" They appear to be on the same timeline as you (time spent already, etc) and she asked me to tell you good luck. She already has a girl and a boy, and runs marathons regularly. She's got a double stroller and is hoping to need a triple soon!
I do hope you get some news earlier than expected. I'll be thinking of you guys! xoxo
So sorry to hear your disappointing news. Hang in there!
I will pray that good news will come your way soon....and goodness comes to though who wait....right???
I'm praying for you!! Your daughter is out there waiting, I'm sure it won't be long now!! You are so inspiring! I can only imagine how hard it must be to wait!
Goodness, I can't imagine having to wait around for something so important! Hang in there, I'll be praying for you all.
Something similar happened with us. I cling to the verse that says that God is never slow about His promises. His timing will be perfect.
Praying for you as you wait (Oh... that is the hardest part for sure).
No...not my birthday...just nostalgic today!! I want you to know that I am praying for you during this journey! angela
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear of this! I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys! Have a great Christmas break :)
