The Nutcracker Ballet

For the past three years, we have taken the boys to see The Nutcracker Ballet performed by the North Carolina School of the Arts! This is such a special tradition to me because I grew up going with my Mom and sister. We would dress up in our Christmas dresses, and it was just so much fun! This year, my Mom went with us instead of TheDentist! I think she enjoyed it too!

The following is taken directly from the NC School of the arts website. We are so fortunate to have this magnificent school so close by.

A magical holiday tradition for more than 40 years, “The Nutcracker” ballet will again bring sugar plum dreams to life in dance and music for 10 dazzling performances in December.

Two performances will star American Ballet Theatre’s Gillian Murphy, Principal Dancer, and Blaine Hoven, Corps de Ballet, both alumni of the UNCSA School of Dance. They will be performing as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Her Cavalier on Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m.

It truly was an amazing performance!!!
Since the first time that we took the boys, they have been collecting nutcrackers each year along with their annual Christmas ornaments. They each have five nutcrackers in their collections. What a wonderful thing to be able to give them one day when they have their own families.
