Part of the reason we headed to the mountains this past weekend was so that we could choose and cut our own Christmas tree. We have never done this before, and I think I was the most excited! We always have many trees, but only one is a real live cut tree. These are my favorite, and it is not officially Christmas until we get a live tree. So on the way back from tubing, we stopped at a small Christmas tree farm in Foscoe, NC. After parking and checking in, we were given a very long Bamboo pole with each foot marked so that we would know how tall each tree was in the field!
And We're Off...
After tubing all morning, I knew the minis would not hold up to a long and drawn out search! We went to one of the closest "patches" of tall trees, and I made up my mind that our tree would be one of these! Below is a picture of the boys with the tree...
There weren't many tall trees left. Our goal was to find a 10 foot tree. When we paid, the lady was surprised that we found one.
And the winner is...
Here she is being carted to the top for wrapping!

That is a whopper! But beautiful, too. I haven't gotten another tree for my house since 2004 because it took over two months to get rid of it! (no curb-side pick up). I had to take it to my friend's house so he could burn it for me...
Absolutely beautiful!
That is one gorgeous tree! We've used fake the last few years, but next year we plan on having a real one. Part of my mission when we move is to find a house with vaulted ceilings so we can have a ginormous Christmas tree like that one!
Did you make the tree skirt? If so, do you have a pattern?
Love, love, love that tree. Merry Christmas
