I Love Milk Glass!
I don't know when this love affair began, but I think it is beautiful.
This week, I want to share two of the milk glass lamps that I have found at our Goodwill. These are not fine antiques by any stretch of the imagination, but this first one I found at the Goodwill outlet for $1. I like the shape a lot.
This is how it looked when I brought it home. I cleaned the lamp up just a little and painted the wooden part a color that matches the rest of the great room decor. I found an inexpensive lampshade, and now I have this beautiful lamp for under $20.
Last week when I was in our local Goodwill, I also found this cute lamp for $3. I have not cleaned it up yet, and I don't know what I am going to do with it just yet, but I also loved the lines of this little lamp.
Happy Friday Y'all

Wow! Way to go! That turned out sooo cute!
Love your lamps! Especially the first one, which reminds me for all the world of a sea urchin. Love it!
Ok...first of all I just had a jaw dropping moment on the first lamp. It is SO pretty! Amazing the transformation! You have a great eye. I can't wait to see what you do with the second one. I am going to have to keep my eye out for those at our Goodwill store now. I think you have started something!
Also, thank you for the encouragement on my remodel. You don't know how much I still want white cabinets but the comment you left really helped me to know that I made the right decision. They aren't my dream cabinets, but they will be just perfect for our time in life right now.
Back to the lamps, when I was little, I used to call the milk glass lamps poodle lamps because the little balls of glass look like poodle haircuts...isn't that funny how children think of things like that? I have a new appreciation for them now and what a steal you got them for!

Great job, DIL. I bet I have a hurricane globe somewhere that would fit. Can't wait for the party !
Those are great! Congrats on your finds... I wish I had the patience to look through Goodwill!
OK, Corey, HOW do you find the time to go "friday finding"??? Which Goodwill are you talking about? Clemmons, University, which one? You are killing me! I am thinking that I just may have to do a once a week stop at Goodwill just because YOU do!! haha I LOVE that lamp re-do! You amaze me!! JC and the boys and Emma sure are lucky to have you! Way go, Creative Corey Cuthrell!! You need to TEACH ME how to do this stuff!!
I LOVE these! I wish i could find two just like them for my bedroom :)
My dad has 2 of those ones in the last picture! The "shades" are also milk glass . . . a hurricane glass shape (if that's what it's called . . .)
Love what you did to the first one - looks awesome!
Somewhere in my attic I THINK I have a milkglass lamp....off to find it. BEAUTIFUL!
Beautiful...I am always on the lookout for these lovely hobnail pieces but never come across them...GREAT find and I love how you transformed the first one.
I read somewhere about a lady turning a lap like that into an amazing lamp using silver leaf. I know its already silver, but if you wanted to go over the glass. It would also be pretty cool to paint the silver part with a black matte paint to take the shine off.
